Staff Training Round Table Leadership Positions Open
The OLA Staff Training Round Table (STRT) invites OLA members to serve in STRT leadership positions beginning September 1, 2024, for the 2024-25 year. We have open positions for the following:
Chair:
- Serves as Chair for 2024-25
- Attends the annual OLA Board retreat in August!
- Sets agendas, sends meeting reminders, and facilitates monthly meetings.
- Takes the lead in compiling the annual report with input from STRT members.
- The past Chair will assist as needed.
- Note: This position can have co-chairs.
Chair-elect / Vice Chair:
- Serves as Vice Chair for 2024-25, then Chair for 2025-26.
- Assists with any or all the duties of the Chair and facilitates meetings in the Chair’s absence.
- Manages the STRT web pages on the OLA website.
Secretary
- Serves as Secretary for 2024-25
- Takes meeting notes, distributes notes to members, and assists with managing the STRT web pages on the OLA website.
We invite individuals of all library levels, backgrounds, and types who enjoy staff training and development and are interested in a leadership opportunity.
This is the charge of our round table:
The Staff Training Round Table (STRT) is a resource for any library staff member involved or interested in staff training at their library. Membership in STRT allows libraries across Oregon to discuss current training issues and best practices, share resources, and collaborate on building future training to meet the needs of an ever-evolving profession.
STRT meetings are held monthly with additional activities (presentations, etc.) held at the discretion of the members, who perform much of the group work. And if you are not already a member of the Staff Training Round Table, as an OLA member you can join for free at any time!

- Your name
- Your job position/title
- Which library you are affiliated with, and
- Why you are interested in the position
Elections for positions with more than one nomination will be held in early July.
